Foraging and plant Dyeing

  • Studio Sessions 2924 College Avenue Berkeley, CA, 94705 United States (map)

On Sunday, the 14th, join Jennie for an exceptional foraging and plant dyeing workshop!

Spend the morning exploring the Elmwood and Jennie’s favorite foraging spots, where you’ll gather local plants to naturally dye your own silk scarf. During the guided walk, you’ll learn how to identify and respectfully harvest dye plants.

Back at the Studio in the afternoon, you’ll discover different dyeing techniques and how to replicate them at home. Your instructor will guide you through dyeing your scarf and share her best tips for achieving consistent, beautiful results in your future plant dyeing projects.

A unique opportunity to connect with nature, learn hands-on skills, and take home a one-of-a-kind piece you made yourself!

You’ll learn:

  • Which plants can provide effective prints and why

  • How to prepare textiles for dyeing with plant dyes

  • How to create reliably clear, crisp prints

Price: $290/student - all supplies included
