About your instructor

Hi there, I’m Lakeisha! I first experienced the joy of sewing over 10 years ago. A few years into my journey, I found the world of indie sewing, and was hooked. I quickly realized I adored knit fabrics most of all and started sewing almost daily, creating new garments for myself, my husband, and our two kids.

I am currently enrolled full time in the fashion design program at Cañada College, where I’m learning to design and draft my own sewing patterns. I also photograph and write all of the pattern tutorials for an indie pattern company. When I’m not with my family, in school, or working, I write sewing tutorials and share fabric & sewing tips over on my blog Sincerely, Shantelle.

Here at Studio Sessions, I hope to remove the trepidation from sewing with stretchy fabrics & make creating with knits accessible, easy, and fun to do! I can’t wait to meet you.
